Currently I'm communicating with some knowledgeable members on "Roots Chat" about obtaining information on George Millington. This George took the place of the first George who died in the battle of Marne.
I'm hoping they have the ability to look-up other members of the 40th battery which could be very interesting. I have my doubts because other sources said that the army didn't keep records at the battery level - I don't know but it seems to me that those in charge of a battery would want to know if everyone was present and accounted for.
I would like to research more about the 40th battery. There seems to be more information about other RFA batteries but not the 40th, which is strange considering their configuration was the same.
